Opening Ceremony: 10:45AM
Olympic Day is a celebration for youth around the world to observe the Olympic values of Fair Play, Perseverance, Respect and Sportsmanship. It is also a day to celebrate the International Olympic Committee's 3 pillars: Move, Learn and Discover. The Connecticut Science Center has been selected by the United States Olympic Committee as an International Olympic Day partner for Connecticut.
The day kicks off at 10:45AM with our Opening Ceremony, when we will honor Connecticut Special Olympians and present a proclamation by the mayor of Hartford. Then, come meet United States Olympic Ice Dancers Melissa Gregory and Denis Petukhov, create Olympic arts and crafts, and see costumes worn by Olympians and a real Olympic torch! Plus, see math at work in Olympic-level sports in MathAlive!, presented nationally by Raytheon and locally by Stanley Black & Decker with support from local media sponsor Xfinity.
Special Olympians visit for FREE all day! Show your medal or certificate of participation at the ticket counter for free General Admission.
Olympic Day is FREE with the purchase of General Admission or a Connecticut Science Center Membership.
