The Connecticut Science Center is committed to supporting teachers in their professional development through pedagogical and content area training, and we're not waiting to open our doors to start this important work!
To register for the following workshops, you need to submit the appropriate attendance contract by fax or mail. You will receive an email to confirm your acceptance into the workshop.

2008 INQUIRY WORKSHOPS
Two Day Follow Up
June 26 & 27, 2008
Time: 8:30 – 3:30
Location: Two Rivers Magnet Middle School
The Connecticut Science Center Introduction to Inquiry workshop series is committed to the philosophy that professional development is continual rather than a one week event. To this end, we provide support offerings during the school year and a Two Day Follow Up Workshop at the end of each school year. All who have attended a Connecticut Science Center Introduction to Inquiry workshop are invited no matter when you attended, and registration is FREE.

Classroom Applications (Graduate Level)
July 14-18, 2008
Time: 8:30 – 4:00
Location: Stamford
This weeklong workshop reviews the inquiry process and shows direct application to the classroom. Templates, assessment, and rudimentary coaching models are also included.
Prerequisite: Attended the Introduction to Inquiry (aka, Institute for Inquiry) Workshop

Formative Assessment Workshop (Graduate Level)

A weeklong workshop dealing with formative assessment of inquiry in the classroom.

2008 CONTENT WORKSHOPS
Grade Level Physical Science Content Workshops
These are 2 separate weeklong workshops dealing with the underlying scientific principles behind these content pieces as they relate to the Framework. Participants will be taught through the inquiry method. The goal of this week is to teach participants science content through inquiry.
All workshop participants will receive a FREE STC kit for the 2008/2009 school year.

Integrating Language Arts & Science

CSC Field Trip Visit Professional Development

Highly recommended for steachers who are considering a class field trip to the Science Center, this half-day workshop provides an overview of our exhibits and their connection to the CT Science Framework.
