Vacation Programs
When school is out, we're in!
Connecticut Science Center's vacation camps are meant to provide exciting programs for families seeking to enhance their child's understanding of science through out-of-school activities. Camps are fee-based programs held during the summer season, during some school vacations, and during some holidays.

Monday: Feb 15 – Gadget Engineering
Computers, smart phones and game systems don’t grow on trees. New electronic gadgets come out every day! Have you ever wondered what’s inside? Today you will have the chance to take apart some of these devices and learn how they work. Then build your own electronic gadget for the CSC!
Tuesday: Feb 16 – Chemical Concoctions
Campers will have the opportunity to explore a range of chemicals that play a role in our everyday lives. Learn how to work with these different chemicals and have fun finding out what they can do.
Wednesday: Feb 17 - Be a Biological Engineer
This camp day will focus on the field of biological engineering. Alan Speivack, a medical research scientist, gave his brother one of the greatest gifts he could ever give him; he helped him re-grow his finger. Using that same technology, scientists can now re-grow some parts of the human body. Campers will investigate the science behind this discovery. Even the youngest participant can learn the basics behind this biological advancement in the field of medicine.
April Vacation Exploration Camp
April 4/19 - 20, 22 - 23: 8:30 AM – 4 PM
Campers will explore the many fascinating aspects of the two Polar Regions- the Arctic and the Antarctic within our laboratory and by experiencing our traveling exhibit. Both regions are home to some of the most fascinating creatures ever encountered and we will uncover their worlds and discover how they master the skill of survival.
Tuesday – Connecticut Earth Day-Keep it Clean!
This month is the 40th anniversary of Earth day. Keeping our world clean means life for us. But how do scientists clean it and keep it clean! Through actual testing and experiments, discover how scientists clean up the Earth and how you can do your part
Thursday – Lost In Space
What happens out in the vastness of space? Why are so many people so interested in what goes on in space, and what does it mean for the rest of us? Campers will explore a range of space topics that are important to our lives, using both the lab and the “Exploring Space” gallery.
Friday – Electricity, Magnetism and Beyond
Can you be magnetically electric or electrically magnetic? In either case you will be dealing with two of the most fundamental (and mysterious) forces that control the universe. Campers will perform hands-on activities in the lab and at the Mag-Lev exhibit to learn how these phenomena are alike, how they are different, what happens when they combine and how they can be used to create the gadgets we use every day.
