Reuben Garret Lucius Goldberg (1883 – 1970) was an American cartoonist, sculptor, author, engineer, and inventor. He's best known for a series of popular cartoons depicting complex devices performing simple tasks in convoluted ways - “Rube Goldberg machines.”
