Professional Development
The Connecticut Science Center is committed to supporting educators in their professional development. The following categories represent the various types of workshops we offer. You are eligible to receive CEUs for attending any of our workshops.
Field Trip Content Workshops
It is recommended that teachers planning a field trip to the Science Center first attend one of our professional development workshops designed especially for field trip visits. These workshops are opportunities for teachers to learn about the field trip programs offered at the Science Center and the pre and post visit materials that are available for classroom use. These resources compliment the exhibit experiences and align with the Connecticut State Science Framework Standards. Explore this section.
Institute for Inquiry Workshop Series
We offer professional development in inquiry-based learning and teaching by providing a series of week-long immersion workshops, as well as an annual two day follow-up conference. The Introduction to Inquiry Workshop, Classroom Application Workshop, Formative Assessment Workshop and the Annual Follow Up Conference constitute our Institute for Inquiry workshop series.
