The Project to Increase Mastery of Mathematics and Science (PIMMS)

The Project to Increase Mastery of Mathematics and Science (PIMMS) of Wesleyan University was founded by Dr. Robert Rosenbaum in 1979. His vision for PIMMS is to help good teachers become better teachers. Since 1979, nearly one thousand teachers have become PIMMS Fellows by completing an intensive multi-year program in mathematics or science. Thousands of Connecticut teachers have participated in summer and academic year workshops and literally hundreds of thousands of Connecticut students have benefited from improved science and mathematics teaching. Connecticut students continue to be among the best performing students in the country in mathematics and science.
